  2. magnetism and electricity, brother of Ernst
  3. Weber. Working with Karl Gauss, he made
  4. sensitive magnetometers to measure magnetic
  5. fields, and instruments to measure direct and
  6. alternating currents. He also built an
  7. electric telegraph. The SI unit of magnetic
  8. flux, the weber, is named after him.
